John Linse enters his sixth season as a competitive coach at Oldsmar, his first as the U9 Girls Coach. He also continues a six year run with the same girls team that started at U11 and are now entering their U16 season, stepping down as their Head Coach and remaining as their Assistant Coach (he just can’t leave them after all that time). He’s the lead trainer for the OSC Kickers Program (U4) as well as volunteers as a coach during the Spring Soccer season. John is a certified USSF Referee and in his "spare time" is also OSC’s General Manager and Director of Operations.
One of the reasons for this teams success is the coaching philosophy of Head Coach, Andy Zabo. He feels strongly that in addition to providing a strong skill base that they must also instill the importance of proper sportsmanship, responsibility and teamwork. Coach Zabo has played soccer himself and therefore brings a true understanding of the game to the team. This is demonstrated consistently by the mutual respect shown between the team and coach.
